Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our San Leandro, CA location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and contribute to sales goals in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, recommend services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Manage appointments: greet clients, handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and records.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; monitor and address pet health issues, including vet transport.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hair-filled environments and live animals.
