Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Santa Cruz, CA location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and contribute to sales targets in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise, and achieve salon sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in team culture.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Proficiency in computers, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
