Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Santee, California location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with exceptional customer service, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, recommend services, and upsell merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, pet safety, and respond to pet health issues, including vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
