Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service in a fast-paced retail environment, sharing responsibilities across departments to support store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products, and drive salon sales targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day checklists; respond to pet emergencies including vet transport.
- Greet customers, answer inquiries, and promote services at register while embodying company values.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), strong organization, communication, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, pet-filled environment with moderate-to-high noise.
