Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth, all while prioritizing pet health, safety, and humane care in a fast-paced store setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products/services to meet pet needs.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Drive sales targets through merchandising, upselling; assist other departments as needed.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vet if required; uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize meticulously. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy, wet environment with live animals. Flexible scheduling for evenings/weekends/holidays essential.
