Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Shawnee Mission, Kansas location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats. Engage pet parents, ensure pet health and safety, and contribute to salon success while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in wet environments with pet hair and moderate noise. Exposure to live animals is common; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu and standalone services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend health solutions, promote merchandise, and drive salon sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions, reservations, check-in/out, and reminder calls.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, perform end-of-day maintenance, and address sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
- Prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion/technical evaluation.
- Computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling.
- Strong organization, attention to safety, communication skills.
