Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Shelby, NC location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and contribute to store success through sales and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, client records, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, work in wet/noisy environments with animals.
