Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines technical grooming skills with customer service in a fast-paced retail environment, sharing responsibilities across departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
• Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, recommend products/services to boost sales.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, client records, and rebooking.
• Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists, ensure humane pet conditions, respond to sick/injured pets.
• Drive salon metrics through promotions and cross-department support.

Experience & Skills

Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational detail-orientation, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
