Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) at our Somers Point, NJ location, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet health, and safety while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Enjoy flexibility in a dynamic environment with evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend health/wellness solutions and sell merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily maintenance checklists; handle sick/injured pets immediately.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, strong organization, attention to safety/detail, and communication skills essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
