Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to drive positive experiences and salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
- Recommend wellness solutions, manage pet parent interactions, reservations, and sales at register.
- Perform check-in/out procedures, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
- Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
