Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, sales, and salon operations in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
