Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds our vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction while driving salon sales and maintaining top cleanliness standards. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in this dynamic retail setting.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), stoop, kneel, and handle pets in a wet, pet-hair-filled environment with moderate to high noise. Depth perception and composure under pressure are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions and rebook services.
- Handle check-ins/outs, phone reservations, and sales register duties.
- Promote merchandise to meet salon metrics.
- Ensure salon sanitation; respond to pet health issues immediately.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must excel in organization, communication, computer use, and safety focus. Thrive in fast-paced settings with live animals.

Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and merchandise
- Manage check-in/out, reservations, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness and pet safety standards
- Assist with sales targets and other store duties as needed
