Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds company standards for cleanliness, pet health, safety, and sales while flexibly assisting across departments as needed.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stoop, kneel, and work in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise, wet areas, and pet hair. Depth perception and composure under pressure are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions and rebook services.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and sales register.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists and respond to pet health issues.
- Drive salon sales through recommendations and promotions.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification. Strong communication, organization, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays essential. Passion for pets and safety focus a must.
