Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Spartanburg, SC location, you'll engage pet parents and their pets while delivering best-in-class salon services. Uphold PetSmart's vision of pet health, safety, and positive experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and be ready to assist across departments.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), work in wet environments with pet hair and moderate noise. Exposure to live animals is common; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend wellness solutions and sell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Manage check-in/out, reservations, client records, and reminder calls.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; respond to pet health issues.
- Follow all policies while contributing to team culture.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or complete PetSmart's Salon Academy training. Excel under pressure with strong communication, organization, and computer skills. Flexible schedule essential for evenings, weekends, holidays.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via in-person, phone, and register interactions
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety standards
- Promote salon sales, recommend merchandise and services
- Handle sick/injured pets and assist other departments as needed
