Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Springfield, IL location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats. Engage pet parents, ensure pet health and safety, and drive salon success while upholding PetSmart's vision and values. This role offers flexibility and rewards passion for pets.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, recommend products, and upsell services to meet sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily maintenance.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet environments.
