Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Uphold our vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction while contributing to store success.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
• Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products, and drive salon sales targets.
• Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
• Ensure salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
• Assist other departments and promote PetSmart's culture of recognition.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Excel in high-pressure situations, demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, and computer proficiency. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-heavy, noisy environments. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays essential.
