Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds cleanliness, pet health/safety, and drives salon sales in our St George store. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in this hands-on position involving lifting up to 50lbs and exposure to pets, water, and moderate noise.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness products/services, and upsell to meet sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
- Monitor pet health; transport sick/injured pets to vet as needed and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Key skills include computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational precision, safety focus, and strong communication. Physical demands: standing, lifting 50+ lbs (team lifts 100+), reaching, stooping in a pet-filled, wet environment.
