Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensures pet safety, and builds lasting pet parent relationships. This hands-on role combines technical grooming skills with customer engagement in a fast-paced retail environment focused on pet health and happiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise, and drive salon sales.
- Handle appointments: greetings, check-ins/outs, reservations, records, and reminder calls.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane pet conditions; respond to health emergencies.
- Collaborate across departments and embody PetSmart's culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must excel in communication, organization, computer use, and thrive under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-filled, noisy settings. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
