Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, salon maintenance, and sales to drive store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise to boost sales.
- Manage appointments: greetings, check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, client records.
- Uphold salon hygiene, perform daily maintenance, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health; act swiftly on injuries/illness, assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must excel in high-pressure environments, demonstrate organizational prowess, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hair-filled areas and live animals. Flexible scheduling for evenings/weekends/holidays essential.
