Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) at our Surprise, AZ location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, and values. Flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), work in wet environments with pet hair and moderate noise. Exposure to live animals common; depth perception required.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu and standalone services per standards.
- Recommend wellness solutions and sell merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions, reservations, check-in/out, and records.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
- Prior grooming or 6 months PetSmart training with certification.
- Computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication.
- Organizational skills, safety focus, flexibility in scheduling.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including bath, brush, nail trims, teeth brushing per PetSmart standards
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and merchandise, drive salon sales
- Manage check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and humane conditions daily
- Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments as needed
