Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage check-in/out, reservations, and client records.
- Drive salon sales through recommendations, promotions, and achieving productivity targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health issues.
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, and at register; assist other store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must possess computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hair-filled environments, and animal handling.
