Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage check-in/out, reservations, and client records.
- Drive salon sales through recommendations, promotions, and achieving productivity targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and respond to pet health emergencies.
- Assist other store departments and participate in company culture initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as Stylist in Training plus PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, communication, and computer skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling pets in a noisy, wet environment with pet hair exposure.
