Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming with customer service in a fast-paced retail environment, sharing responsibilities across departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Drive salon sales through recommendations, merchandise upsells, and achieving productivity targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Identify and address sick/injured pets, transporting to vets if required; assist other store areas.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training). Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize with safety focus. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50+ lbs, working in wet/hairy/noisy settings with animals. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
