Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Syracuse, NY location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role upholds PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and drive salon sales.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, client records, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon cleanliness via daily checklists; respond to sick/injured pets.
- Promote merchandise/services and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
