Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Based in Tacoma, Washington, this role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service excellence to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, promote services, and achieve sales targets.
- Handle reservations, check-ins, check-outs, client records, and reminder calls.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Collaborate across departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart’s Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
