Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales to uphold our vision of best-in-class pet care. Located in Tallahassee, Florida, you'll thrive in a dynamic retail environment focused on pet health, safety, and happiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services like bathing, brushing, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care following PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise, and drive salon sales goals.
- Handle check-in/out procedures, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, humane pet conditions, and immediate response to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow company policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, and communicate effectively. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair-filled, noisy environments. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required; strong organization and safety focus essential.
