Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Tarentum, Pennsylvania store, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role upholds PetSmart's vision through grooming expertise, customer engagement, and salon excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage reservations/check-ins/check-outs, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness/sanitation; monitor pet health and transport to vet if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to store productivity metrics.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
