Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Taylor, Michigan store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering best-in-class salon services. Uphold company vision while sharing responsibility for cleanliness, pet health, and safety. Enjoy flexibility in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend health/wellness solutions based on pet needs; promote sales to meet targets.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greet, answer questions, handle reservations, check-in/out, rebooking, reminder calls.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed; assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- Prior grooming experience or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass.
- Computer proficiency; strong organizational skills, attention to detail/safety.
- Excellent communication; composure under pressure; flexible schedule (evenings/weekends/holidays).
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively; lift 50lbs frequently, team lift 100lbs+; exposed to wet environments, pet hair, moderate-high noise, live animals. Depth perception required.
