Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Temple, Texas store, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend solutions, and promote sales.
- Handle appointments, check-ins, check-outs, and reminder calls.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Collaborate across departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell services/merchandise
- Manage salon check-in/check-out, reservations, and client communications
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and perform end-of-day maintenance
- Assist with sick/injured pets and collaborate across store departments
