Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, salon operations, and sales in a fast-paced retail environment focused on pet health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products/services to meet pet needs.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Drive sales growth, achieve targets; assist in other store areas as needed.
- Respond to pet health issues promptly, including vet transport if required.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must excel in high-pressure settings, possess computer proficiency, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hairy environments and live animals. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
