Role Overview
As a Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) in Texarkana, Texas, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet health, and safety standards in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend wellness solutions based on pet needs and promote salon sales/merchandise to hit targets.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greet, answer questions, handle reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain highest cleanliness/sanitation; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance and respond to sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to team culture.
Experience & Skills
- Prior grooming or 6 months PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass.
- Computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure.
- Flexible for evenings/weekends/holidays; physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk, handle pets in wet/noisy environment.
Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift 50-100 lbs, stoop/kneel; exposed to pet hair, noise, mechanical parts. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
