Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds cleanliness, pet health/safety standards, and drives salon success through exceptional service and sales in a fast-paced retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
• Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
• Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
• Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; report and transport sick/injured pets immediately.
• Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
