Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to exceed expectations and boost salon performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Build pet parent relationships through consultations, recommendations, and seamless appointment management.
- Drive salon success by promoting services/merchandise, achieving sales targets, and handling check-in/out procedures.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond swiftly to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings, weekends, holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
