Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales to drive store success. Located in Tinley Park, Illinois, you'll work in a dynamic environment focused on pet health, safety, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products/services, and upsell to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and maintain accurate records.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions; respond to pet health issues promptly.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have prior grooming experience or 6 months in PetSmart's Salon Academy with certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wet conditions. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
