Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensures pet safety, and builds lasting pet parent relationships. This hands-on role in our Tsawwassen store combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service in a fast-paced, pet-loving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs and recommend solutions.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Drive sales through merchandise/service promotions to meet targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training + certification). Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize meticulously. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking extensively, working in wet/hair-filled spaces with moderate-to-high noise and live animals. Flexible scheduling for evenings/weekends/holidays essential.
