Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist), you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional customer experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with sales, client management, and salon operations in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products, and upsell services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-in/out, reminder calls, and maintain accurate records.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Collaborate across departments, participate in recognition culture, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
