Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon operations, and sales growth. Maintain the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales targets.
- Handle check-in/check-out, client consultations, reminder calls, and rebooking to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Uphold salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning; respond to pet health issues promptly.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition programs.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training with safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-heavy environments. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays mandatory.
