Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and upholding the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend services/merchandise, and promote salon growth to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
- Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured pets to vets as needed, and assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet hair-filled environments.
