Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon operations, and pet safety in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
• Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products, and drive salon sales.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
• Uphold salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
• Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong organization, attention to safety, and superior communication. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing, stooping, and working in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
