Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role combines grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in wet/hairy conditions, and climb ladders. Depth perception and composure under pressure required.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu and standalone services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend products/services to boost sales.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and humane pet conditions; report/transport sick pets.
- Participate in store culture, assist other departments, and meet sales targets.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion required. Excel in organization, communication, computer use, and safety. Thrive in moderate-to-high noise with live animals.

Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including bath, brush, nail trims, teeth brushing per PetSmart standards
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and products, drive salon sales
- Manage check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and report sick/injured pets
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies
