Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to exceed expectations and boost salon performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products, and drive sales to meet targets.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
- Monitor pet health, respond to emergencies, and assist across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-heavy environments.
