Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and upholding top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist customers in-person and via phone.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health, take immediate action for sick/injured animals including vet transport; assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
