Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role combines grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise to boost sales.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Monitor pet health, respond to emergencies including vet transport; assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and prioritize safety/detail. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hair-filled environments and live animals.
