Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and upholding our vision for pet health, safety, and satisfaction. This hands-on role involves grooming expertise, customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales contributions in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/products to boost sales and pet health.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking, client records.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness/sanitation; monitor pet health, transport sick pets to vet if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in team culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
