Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon management, and pet safety in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-in/out, reminder calls, and maintain accurate records.
- Uphold highest cleanliness and safety standards; perform daily maintenance and respond to pet health issues.
- Collaborate across departments and embody PetSmart's culture of recognition and inclusion.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication, and organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise.
