Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This full-time role in our Waterloo store involves hands-on grooming, customer interaction, sales promotion, and team collaboration in a fast-paced pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Drive salon sales through recommendations, merchandise upsells, and achieving productivity targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured pets to vets, and assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training). Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, working in wet/hairy/noisy areas with live animals.
