Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon operations, and sales growth while prioritizing pet health, safety, and salon standards in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents in-person/phone/register to recommend wellness solutions, handle reservations, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness/sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day maintenance, and respond to pet health issues (e.g., vet transport).
- Drive sales targets by promoting services/merchandise and achieving productivity metrics.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training + certification). Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize with safety focus. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50+ lbs (team lift 100+), working in wet/noisy/pet-heavy settings. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
