Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services while prioritizing pet health, safety, and customer satisfaction. Based in Whitby, this role involves full grooming menus, client consultations, salon operations, and sales growth in a dynamic pet retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records for seamless experiences.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies for a collaborative store environment.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs), composure under pressure, and strong communication. Ideal candidates excel in organization, safety focus, and pet handling amid moderate noise, wet conditions, and animal exposure.
