Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales to drive salon success while upholding PetSmart's high standards for pet health, safety, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, conduct check-in/out, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon hygiene through daily maintenance, end-of-day cleaning, and immediate response to pet health issues, including vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments, participate in recognition culture, and adhere to all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-filled environments.
