Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, sales, and salon management in a fast-paced retail environment.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), work in wet/hairy conditions with moderate to high noise. Exposure to live animals and mechanical parts common. Reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu and standalone services per company standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and drive sales.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, client records, and promotional calls.
- Maintain salon cleanliness/sanitation and respond to pet emergencies.
- Collaborate across departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
- Prior grooming or 6 months PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification.
- Computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling.
- Strong organization, attention to safety, communication skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell services/merchandise
- Manage salon operations: check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and reminder calls
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and respond to pet health emergencies
- Drive salon sales targets and participate in store-wide duties
